Stone & Chalk for migrating entrepreneurs

Migrate to South Australia to start and grow your company in a world-class innovation precinct in the heart of Adelaide

Stone & Chalk is official partner of the South Australian Government to assess and support visa applications for the Australian Federal Government’s 188E provisional entrepreneur visa. If you are an entrepreneur, please contact us to help you get endorsed for this visa.

Stone & Chalk is the largest dedicated startup and scaleup innovation community in Australia with hubs in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. In South Australia, Stone & Chalk is based at Lot Fourteen, the innovation precinct that is making global impact and is neighbours with world leading organisations and startups such as AmazonGoogle, Myriota, and the Australian Institute for Machine Learning. Stone & Chalk Space, a programme dedicated specifically to startups in the Space industry, is co-located with MyriotaSmartSat CRC, and the Australian Space Agency.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re in SaaS, Cyber, AI, Fintech, Spacetech, or Deeptech, we can support all entrepreneurs that satisfy our membership requirements. However, if your startup is in one of the South Australian Government’s future industries, we can even support you better.

Stone & Chalk will provide all new arrivals access to shared workspace and facilities at Lot Fourteen and incubator support services for 3 months. All members of Stone & Chalk Adelaide have access to Stone & Chalk hubs in Melbourne and Sydney when they travel interstate.

If you wish to apply for the Federal 188E Entrepreneur visa, you need one of the Australian states to endorse your application. In South Australia, startup organisations have partnered with the Government to assess these applications. The process is as follows:

  1. If you're not a citizen of US, Great Britain, Ireland, Canada, or New Zealand, obtain proof of "competent" English by getting an IELTS or equivalent test with a minimum score of at least 6 in all 4 components. If you don't have this already, start now, as it will take some time.
  2. While you get your English language test done, apply to Stone & Chalk to assess and support your application. In a first step, fill out the short form below.
  3. If your application is supported by Stone & Chalk, you can then apply for endorsement from the Government of South Australia on the SA Immigration website. Attach the Stone & Chalk letter of support to your application.
  4. With the endorsement letter of the South Australian Government, you can then apply for the 188E visa on the Immigration website of the Department of Home Affairs.

You cannot skip or change the sequence of any of the steps above.
